Centaurus Ice Skating Club
CISC (Centaurus Ice Skating Club) asked me to join the club committee while I was studying at Ara Institute. I am the sole Designer on the committee which means most of the decisions have to go through people who know very little about what goes into creating working designs. Within the past year I have created a new website for the club, I created pamphlets and programs for their competition, as well as taking on the responsibility of being the photographer for the competitions.
With 2024 just around the corner, my plans for the club are to bring them even further into the twenty-first century by creating an online presence like Instagram and TikTok tok all so the younger generation of skaters feel connected to their community.
2023 Centaurus celebrated its 70th birthday. In celebration, I created their 70th birthday logo with imaging from their current logo
A glimpse of my final project at Ara
For my final project at Ara, I am taking my favourite brothers’ Grimm stories from when I was a child and illustrating them in my style. Taking the old and pairing it with a more modern style of illustration and then putting the stories and illustrations into a stylised book that looks like it has been unearthed, covered in moss and crystals.
ABOUT MEI have been studying for a bachelor of visual communication at Ara institute of canterbury since 2020, graduate in 2022. Taken a basic course on CSS and HTML in high school and Ara, and has worked on a professional site for a sports club that represents Canturbury and New Zealand. Creates illustrations and other graphical elements, like ads posters, and knows basic animation.
A glimpse at Book Book
Book Book is a campaign that is trying to kickstart someone's love of reading, which features many different items that would pair well with the activity. The purpose of the campaign is to get people between the ages of 18 - 25 to either start reading again or to read a book for the first time since they were in primary school.
A wordless narrative
A wordless narrative that illustrates the events of when Odysseus met the cyclops in the ancient story of the Odyssey. The style of story is meant for children even with the darker themes within the story.

Venture is a brand that is trying to bring more young people into the city of Christchurch by creating a place where they can go, designed for them with many changing activities.
